WHAT BRUSHES DO YOU USE?

WHAT HAS YOUR ARTISTIC JOURNEY BEEN LIKE?

  • So I've been drawing digitally and posting artwork online since 2008. I tell people I started drawing seriously in 2020. It took a bit.

  • 2008-2012 was my bad art, big ego years. Drew A LOT but learned nothing? Posted my brightly coloured dog OCs to YouTube and DeviantART almost daily, made a lot of friends whose animation memes went viral but I got into some good cringe compilations so who's the real winner?

  • I graduated from UNLV in 2020 with a degree in Graphic Design. Main takeaway from this: was in an artblock for 7 years and only drew rough concepts and 100s of WIPs. Learned to just show up with whatever artwork you had, to finish something and move on, and to pretend you love your art more than anything. Things that still help me on a daily basis.

  • 2020-today was a very quick roller-coaster of finding my specific artistic voice. By not drawing for 7 years I didn't know what I REALLY liked to do as an adult. I was immediately applying for industry-level concept art jobs, but when asked what I would do if money wasn't an option I just dreamed of drawing people's OCs and going back to my brightly coloured dogs. So here we are now. I love that my job is to meet other people's characters and draw these paintings for eachother!!

HOW DO YOU PICK COLOURS?

  • Colour helps you with what colours typically look good together, and what to pick if you need to add something to pop.

  • Shade WILDLY with neighboring colours (ie. red with a purple or orange-tinted shadow), and I colour/shade manually (not one shading overlay) to have more control over this.

  • Overlays/ gradient maps are fun ways to reach colour compositions further than the colours you picked. I'll do this over the sketch and colour-pick from there OR colour with whatever and make it more interesting in the last few adjustments.

COMMISSIONS

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

  • Commission prices are listed here.

HOW LONG DO COMMISSIONS TAKE?

  • The average turn-around time is a week minimum. The longest a commission has taken is a month and a half for a full painting. This changes depending on the amount of orders already in the que and the complexity of the artwork. Clients are generally informed if there are other commissions ahead of theirs.

  • PLEASE NOTE if you need your commission by a certain date.

DO I GET A WIP?

  • WIPs (or work-in-progress shots) are guaranteed for artwork priced over 50$ OR ones including a narrative/idea specific to the client. If a commission is taking longer than expected (+2-3 weeks) a WIP is offered as an update.

  • You are ALWAYS more than welcome to request a WIP at anytime.

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THE END RESULT?

  • When offered the finished commission I always ask for changes/adjustments from the client before sending any files. Changes are typically easy to make and are encouraged if something isn't sitting right with you. You have (2) chances to make corrections: one initial critique and one more to get it right. After that we have to call it!

  • As a general disclaimer, commissioning an artists gets you artwork that comes from their interpretation of different shapes, forms, colours, etc. It is a risk to take when giving artistic freedom to someone! When making adjustments I can fix any forgotten markings, colour corrections, and even re-drawing some weird things that didn't sit well. BUT if you do not like the way
I draw paws or faces I cannot help you after the commission has been finished.

CAN I GET A REFUND?

  • Refunds are accepted before a commission has been started OR is still in the sketching/early stages. Invoices for commissions over 50$ are not sent until the early stages of the artwork is finished due to potential refunds, or change in direction.

  • Refunds are NOT accepted after an artwork has been started. The service you are paying for is a finished piece and the artist's time and effort. No longer wanting a finished piece does not warrant a refund for the work done.

CAN YOU DRAW _____?

  • I CAN DRAW a lot of things. Humans, abstract concepts, something mankind has never seen before. You are also not limited to what is listed on the commission page. I am open to pitches, ideas, and can give you a quote for anything. Commercial work and long-term projects are also open for discussion. Please note I use industry-level rates.

  • NSFW is accepted, but is done under a different alias and may not be posted online at all.

  • I DO NOT DRAW anything that is intentionally malicious, unnecessary, or illegal. NO zoophilia or pedophilia. I am NOT comfortable commercializing sensitive concepts I may have put into my own artwork, such as references to animal death or self harm. The general rule is: understand some things should not be drawn and some things should not be add-ons for artwork.
